Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but lately I've noticed that when I list a gemstone jewelry item, often it is not showing up in the specific gemstone category I selected. I think maybe it is when I have to type in the gemstone type because it doesn't display automatically (but it is definitely an item specific that can be searched on). I listed an emerald ring last week; I had to type the gemstone category Emerald since it did not come up in the list by default. Noticed after I submitted the listing, it wasn't showing up in the Emerald category (fine jewelry). Contacted support, they thought it was an indexing problem (which I guess it is), but it never fixed itself; so I had to end the listing and relist and then it worked but I didn't have to type in the gemstone type when I relisted (was given a credit for the first listing by support, thank you :). Two out of 4 of my listings created this morning are not showing up in their gemstone category now as well, and in both instances I had to type in the gemstone type; both are rings (I've attached them to this posting). Now I'm worried I have listings not showing up properly, I have too many to go through each one (today anyway).
I've had the same problem in the Handcrafted artisan category. But that's not my biggest gripe right now with eBay.
Lately, almost every listing I've posted has been double listed and double charged. When I called, they said hey couldn't do anything. All I ould do was end one of the listings.:( and be out my listing fee? naturally.
I have a lot of problems with item specifics in vintage jewelry also. They come up rather randomly and sometimes even the condition - used or new - is not present. Sometimes I only have one choice such as material - rhinestone or none. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I've tried adding to the list, but it never works. I can't figure out how these items are added or what they are related to when I call them up. They need to be standardized and not left up to the whim of individuals!
I think the indexing is suppose to put them in the item specific categories, but the software indexing isn't working right. I used to trust this but seems I can't anymore. I thought maybe it was only when I would choose 'sell similar' on one of my existing listings; I would use that option so I don't have to retype everything. So I used the blank template this morning, same problem exists.
This is awful...none of us can afford this problem, especially this time of year. Neither items I listed above are showing up still. If I do a keyword search, they come up. I wonder how many more of mine aren't showing up. That is terrible Paul! I had noticed a drop in business as well.....
Would you believe this is still happening? Is anyone else that is listing gemstone rings having trouble with them showing up in the main stone item specific that you listed it in? My one ring that is Topaz is showing up but the others are not :( I've had several Ebay support people working on it....they are STILL working on it via email...one of them said to call support for a quicker response, so I'm on the phone with them now. This is NOT the time for this to be happening!!! Jane
