Looking for a vintage lady's watch

Hello, all! Newbie here and I am looking to purchase a vintage (1930's - 1940's) ladies wristwatch, but I don't know a THING about them other than I love the way they look!

Hoping the experts here can guide me. For example, 17 jewel or 22 jewel? The higher the number of jewels, the better the watch?

Boluva, Hamilton? What are some good watch companies that don't cost a fortune?

Thank you in advance for any and all help/suggestions!

Hi,

There's a watch discussion group. I don't go there often. But, I 'd suggest that is the best place for you to ask a watch question and get several replies from buyers and sellers.

Thank you for the suggestion - I didn't realize there was a separate area for watches. Sheesh........

Anyhoo - re-posted my question there and, hopefully, will get some replies.

Thanks again!

I have my grandmother's for sale. It's cheap, but it's not running. Pretty watch though.
