1979 for me!
Useful Funny
Yeah, I started listening about 75! I bought the first three albums in one set, then ALIVE! and ALIVE2! And Rock and Roll Over, Love Gun, and Destroyer. I was starting to make a few bucks and bought these albums. My stepmother played piano at church and taught lessons at our house. She would beat on the ceiling and shout " I can't hear for your music" and I would reply," I can't hear my music for that piano!" She tore up one of my KISS shirts and made dust clothes out of it! I think that was a pivotal part of my life! Keep rockin'!

It was around 1975 for me. I saw the KISS Alive album in the store. Did not know anything about them but i knew I had to have the album. My loving surprised me with it for Christmas. I was hooked ever since. Got my cousins into the band and in 1977 went my first rock concert featuring Kiss with Cheaptrick as the opener, at the Cow Place, in San Francisco. Crushed against the stage right in front of Gene I got to experience my 1st live rock and roll show. I remember it like yesterday. Rock on Roll hard rock and roll will keep you young.

I first heard them in 1976 (I was 5 year old)! I was playing in my room when I heard this awesome music coming from down the hall. I went to see what it was and where it was coming from. I can remember walking down the hallway as if everything were in slow motion. When I got to my brothers bedroom doorway my brother and his friend were playing air guitar facing the other direction. I walked in the room and saw the Destroyer album cover laying on the bed. I picked it up and said "Wow, what is this!" Then they turned around took the album cover and chased me out of the room. I was instantly in love with the band. It took me another year to figure out who it was because my brother wouldn't tell me. When I figured out who it was I went out and bought there newest album Love Gun followed by anything and everything KISS that I could get my hands on. I've been hooked ever since.

KISS Destroyer was my first 8 track, but what really caught my eye was the "Originals". I once rode my bike approx 16 miles round trip to a Gibsons store to buy the "1976 Tour" poster. I am currently 46 years old and when I can snag KISS stuff, I do.

it was 1978, I was 7. We got KISS Double Platinum on 8 track. I wish I still had that. I used to wear out both the 8 tracks, and the records.

I started listening to them in 1998, when the Psycho Circus album came out, i was 15. Went to the Farewell tour and sat 3rd row center. Ever since then, i've been obsest. But, that is putting it mildly haha. I'm 24 now and have a KISS collection like you wouldn't believe. I'm all about the vintage collectables now.

When I was 5, I watched the Paul Lynde Halloween Special (Oct. 1976) with my older brother and my aunt. I was mesmerized by KISS. All I remember was my aunt continually asking me to sit down because I was standing in front of the TV gawking. The next time KISS came to town in 1977, I threatened to runaway from home if my parents didn't let me go to the show. I didn't go, but I didn't run away either. I finally got to see them when I was 16, and have gone seven more times since then. Loyal KISS Fan for 32 years!!!

1976 or so. I was 5 years old, watching TV, and a commercial for DESTROYER came on. All I remember seeing is an image of the album cover and "Shout It Out Loud" was playing over it.

I... was... MESMERIZED.

I didn't buy a KISS album until ALIVE II came out the next year. I had the cassette version (2 tapes!) and listened to each one back and forth, over and over. Well, that's not entirely true, only the first 3 sides. I didn't like the new studio tunes at all, it took away from the illusion that I was listening to a live KISS performance. Of course, with what we learned later on, we definitely were NOT listening to a live KISS performance, but I digress...

Christmas of 1978, I spent the entire vacation listening to ALIVE II, Ace's solo album (Ace was by far my favorite), and DOUBLE PLATINUM. I remember even watching "Kiss Meets The Phantom of the Park" two months earlier before Halloween. I had the lunchbox, the Ace Mego action figure, the works.

I'm so into Kiss, I could eat my own face!
