I am in the process of knitting a number of things. Would like to talk to some people that are in the knitting mode.
Useful Funny
For Christmas I knitted 9 pairs of sockes for my coworkers and now I'm working on a sweater for my husband and socks for my grnadkids. The sweater has a patterned yoke and the soks are self-patterning yarn.

I have knitted 6 pair of fingerless wrist covers, 1 pair of slipper boots, 2 sets of baby ensembles, and a scarf for family for christmas. Have been knitting on a purple varigated long sleeved pullover with yoked neck and belted waist for myself (been taking my time)and have been working on other projects for the store. I usually take it everywhere with me, seeing my husband does most of the driving lately(Im not able right now) I knit while he drives.

Also new to knitting neighborhood. Love It!
Started knitting in 5th grade when my Girl Scout group took knitting lessons. Didn't knit to much while raising kids, only to knit them newborn outfits and a few toys. Started knitting again, like a nut, when I was in my late 30's.
Currently have been knitting sweaters for bears. (besides the other 4 or 5 projects I have going) My spinning and weaving guild dress the bears for donating to local fire departments to give to hurt and upset kids. Making these little sweaters is a perfect way to refine and learn new patterns and techniques. And I can knit 5 sweaters in one week!

I am in the knitting mode again. I learned to knit when my children were small, but when I went to work fulltime I didn't have much time to knit. Now I am knitting a baby blanket, booties for a great grandson, and 2 scarfs.

I need help in figuring out yarn substitutions. I have a pattern for a pretty spring sweater, but would like to use different yarn than what the pattern calls for. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Hello Snoop and others, I've been crocheting since 1976 (I was a little tike), and knitting since 1995 (taught myself). I started out with scarves, hats and potholders, and graduated to gloves, dresses, sweaters and purses. Lately, I've been into knitting socks. I love the fact that you can find a really lively colored yarn and then make eyepopping wack-a-doodle socks. It's also really cool that my mother who used to love making fancy dresses for me, wants me to make socks and other clothing items for her now. It warms my heart that my hand knit socks warm her feet. Hey Snoop, what sort of things are you knitting right now?

I started teaching myself to knit a few months ago and knitted a blanket for my new grandson in MI. I recently decided to learn to knit socks. I love it but it is going to take some practice to handle all of those needles. I feel as if iI need more hands or at least more fingers.
