I've knitted some blankets and now want to try and knit some clothing but the only patterns I have been able to find are hideous and outdated. I know that there is cute stuff out there to knit but I just can't find them. Also some of the patterns call for super expensive yarn. I would like to be able to subsitute it for affordable yarn. Thanks for any responses!
Great patterns (and free) at garnstudio.com...also inexpensive quality yarn...I'm knitting one now that's all garter in multi-directions. Also check out your favorite yarn manufacturers websites for stylish patterns.
Try Knitty on line knitting magazine. They have contemporary knitting designs that are great. Another thing that is great is that it's free on line. Knitty.com check it out ! I like the old patterns but sometimes they just are too funky , more for laughs than to knit.
I like to go to about.com when I need to find a pattern. All kinds of stuff on there! I was looking for a hat pattern for my dad and found a glove hat! It looked like a giant hand! Very ugly, but very funny. ps. I did find the hat pat. for my dad. and he loves it! Happy Hunting!
Bernat and Lion Brand have lots of patterns for every skill level. Michael's also has some patterns. Just search the net and you wouldn't believe how many you will find.
check out www. berroco.com for good patterns. Also Crystal palace has free patterns on their site www.straw.com. Join revelry a new knitting web site. I am also putting up named brand yarns from my retail storevYarns for Less. Ruthie
Have you joined Ravelry (www.ravelry.com)? If not I highly recommend it! They have a ton of free patterns. You can also see what yarns other knitters have used on the pattern to give you some ideas. You can also search by yarn itself and see what others have done. And of course, if you are totally stumped, there are plenty of friendly people to help out.
