Hello my fellow LOTR Geeks! Let's get talking shall we? I loved the books and I loved the movies. I collected WAY TOO MANY of the action figures and even got the "Ring" inscription tattooed around my right arm. One of my nicknames is "Lord Of The Geeks" which seems to suit me well.

So lets hear it! Which one is your favorite? How far have you geeked out over these books/movies? I look forward to any replies. Wheeee!
Useful Funny
I really liked the armament of Murazor, the Witch-King, so besides all the UC
swords/helms, I bought the complete set of conceptual armor for the WK
from kropserkel, and will be getting the giant Flail from Steltler Creative. My friends think its crazy, but I see it as a once in a lifetime deal. I would say investment, but I will never sell it. Can't wait for Mardi Grais.

I have loved the books and loved the movies. I own a 1864 four classroom school house and one class room I am making into a movie theatre with a 14 foot diagonal screen. This room will be decorated with all the flags of middle earth, replica weapons, and posters from the trilogy. I would love to find a couple of large argonath statues for either side of the screen.

My husband and I are huge Fans as well of the books and movies. We have bought nearly every LOTR board and roleplaying games out there.
The Most memorable characters to me are Glorfindel and Strider/Aragorn.

In response to the other reply; I think it would look totally awesome to have the Gates of Argonath astride your big screen. I hope you can find statues of appropriate size.

Medusa_boo ~ thanks for kicking off a decent LOTR discussion. I've been buying on ebay for a few years but haven't sold anything YET and this "neighborhoods" thing is totally new to me. There's other sites that I go to to chat about my hobbies. I TOO love the books, movies, music, posters, toys, games, etc. I think Peter Jackson found the end of his rainbow (& the pot of gold) with this franchise. But tatooing The Ring's inscription on your arm is a bit too much for my taste, I can't compete with that level of fanaticism.

All ~ I do have some AOME figures (MIB) that I eventually want to get rid of -- they're just too darn fragile for my young grandsons to handle and treat respectfully. Besides I got hook on the Sabertooth LOTR Combat Hex TMG game after fiending over the GW version for years, but I didn't want to paint my own mini's, so the "clickies" models were perfect for me. I have all of the BS, FE, & PD sets; 90% of the TT set; 66% of the PR's and only 10% of the RK's (who's scarcity is truly making them "collector's items" since they fetch a GOOD price every time one shows up).

518aWilson35 ~ WOW, your school house project sounds awesome. In what region of Middle Earth (state) are you located and can we come and visit? Good luck finding a life sized replica of the Argonath statues, I'm having trouble getting my hands on a set of the six inch ones that came with the special edition FOTR DVD set (for $20 anyway). I suggest to locate a starving local art student and offer to feed them and pay for the marble, clay, plaster of paris, or paper mache (medium of your choice).

BTW: My favorite character is Samwise Gamgee, and for O-L forums I've adopted the moniker: Jaytu Johngee (a combination of my first name and phonetic initial of my last name - John G.) Have A Nic eDay, y'all

Hail! I'm known as Theoden around town. I have a Theoden license plate and a website gapofrohan.com I found the idea of a theater with the statues a great idea. Would love to see a pic when you finish. bushhog2

Oh yes, LOTR geekdom here. PJ's fantastic movies got me back into LotR. Since Fellowship of the Ring came out, I've dug deep into all things Tolkien, and now I am a huge Tolkien fan. I love the Silmarillion, Children of Hurin, the Hobbit, Unfinished Tales, Histories of Middle-Earth, etc. I've got everything Tolkien available recorded on audio, and listen to them all on my daily 2 hr. commute. My California license plate reads "RINGFAN". The plate frame reads "One Ring To Rule Them All". I've got the elvish inscription on the back glass, and the JRR Tolkien rune on the side back glass. I've also become a collector. I have about 160 Sideshow-Weta polystone 1/6th scale statues, bust, and helms. Oh yes, throw in a few United Cutlery swords and helms. I'm way in. I'm a Tolkien nut for life.

Yes, another total LOTR geek...I loved all of the movies, extended editions of course! I love the books too. Now that the Hobbit will be coming to the theater in 2010, I am hoping there will be new shirts and collectibles to enhance my Middle Earth room. I just got the Noble Collection chess set as a birthday present - wow, very nice. Thanks for the discussion.
