I am curious how much interest there is out there for cards from some of the older sets. I used to play years ago and am interested in selling my cards, but not sure if there is much interest for the older stuff. anyone have any info on this?
Ice age may actually be kinda popular, especially with the release of coldsnap. As far as the other base sets, it depends on the card. There are some who just want the dual lands and stuff like that, most of the others have since been reprinted and is usually not in demand exept to collectors who are trying to get whole sets.
Can't speak for everyone, but personally I love the older cards and am always interested in adding to my collection. At the moment I'm hunting for artifacts that came out before Series IV as well as anything that has to do with Ante (such as Darkpact and Contract from Below). There was a crudeness to the artwork in the cards back then, and I don't mean this as a criticism. In fact, I find the older cards to be much more compelling with regard to artwork and flavor text than those of recent sets.
it really depends on the person most sets you mentioned reprinted MOST of the good cards in the newer editions such as the pain lands but i play and collect if you are interested in selling let me now what you have and a price
I agree with the other guys here. I think there will always be a demand for older cards. Some not for the playability aspect (some older cards are banned) but more from the collecting aspect. I am a big fan of some older sets. Ice Age had some great stuff. And as was mentioned with Cold Snap you can make use of some of them. And let's face it, Snow Lands never go out of style. :)
Ok I have finally brought all my cards home, and have begun to list a few of them. As I Scan more and see how well some of them sell I will list more and more of my cards, and at some point list packs of commons etc. If you are interested in the cards I already have up for auction just check under my username.
