My Sensi would always say that the two most important things to learn in your training.... was one balance is the key, and the other was to stay focused on your objective.

Check out chosenninja on youtube.com he has a lot of good philosphy and videos of his martial arts. I think the best thing is bruce lee said let you body flow like water. the water becomes the cup, and it becomes the teapot. It can crash or stay be water my friend

I like the response from oldsmobilenut. Bruce Lee's philosophy has been useful for me. Karate is different than many things I do in life. I personally could not focus on something like balance, unless that refers to how I live. Having balance at class and in practice is a very important skill and I think sets people apart, but for me it is not a thing I can seek directly.

Focus is. Focus your blow on a target the size of a quarter. That makes sense and I can do that.
