High mileage Mopar mini vans

Is there anyone that has experience with high mileage on Mopar mini vans? I was going to look at a 97 Plymouth with 3.0 and 169,000 miles but I though that’s a lot of miles. It has a few small dents but nothing bad and they only want $1000 for it. Could anyone comment?

that sounds like a great price, I run a 98 town and country van with 250,000 miles on it and i had to replace the trans at 200,000 and replaced the starter and the idler pully and thats all other than oil changes brakes and tires they are great and I still get around 25mpg

Yup, you're right about the head gasket. Mine blew around 200,000. I now have 265,000. Great van, otherwise.
