Feel free to send me a few pictures. I too am working on finding parts for a moped but have learned some. Please take pictures of the front end, leg area, engine (both sides), Any markings you have. Is it a 2 or 4 stroke engine?

Thanks,

Rodney

well the 50 probably refers to it being a 50cc Scooter. The other letters - who knows, but if you bought it along side the road - was it brand new or used?

If new and it was cheap, it was most likely a Chinese branded item. If that's the case, it was made by only a few factories, then named as one of many brands - that are all actually the same.

An idea you can check if using the VIN number. I know that 50cc scooters don't have to be registered, but I think they still have VIN.

And even though your daughter doesn't need a motorcycle endorsement to drive one of these she should still follow all the safety rules - wearing appropriate clothing and helmet - all the time.

good luck,

Ken

There is no doubt that you have bought one of the myriad Chinese-made scoots that are flooding America. Most are poorly made and many not legal in California. Iowa? I dunno.
By way of an answer, go to the website for.........

2strokebuzz.com

...and look for their "Scooter VINs" page. If you look for a matching VIN prefix (2 or 3 letters) you will find the country of manufacture and maybe several brand-names. Next, I would go to [Scooter World Magazine} and ask them who to contact for parts....for that manufacturer. There are other ways, but this is the route I would follow....first. Then, buy a Jap scooter. I know they have 'em in Iowa
