99 rm 250, flywheel weight, fmf gnarly pipe, twin air airfilter, properly jetted, plug looks great, cylinder is plated, intake/exhaust ports modified, exhaust valve modified, the guy(eric gorr) who reworked the cylinder recommended 40:1 gas:oil ratio,. starts 2-5 kicks cold, 1 kick warm. over the winter i did a total bottom end overhaul, all lower end bearings, oil seals, crank/rod. now it takes about 30 kicks cold, 5-7 warm. plug still looks great, i have replaced it though to no avail. it push starts easily, but that sucks. i use yamaha 2-stroke oil and high octane pump gas. any suggestions?????
this is my first bike and my first time doing an engine overhaul. i put the kick start lever back on in the wrong position so i wasnt getting a full kick. now it starts on the second or third kick cold, first warm every time.
