I thought it might be a good idea to introduce yourself, and share some mountain bike info.
I'm Traci - 33 years old, married to a mountain bike junkie, and live in Sandy, Utah.
I have been riding mountain bikes for about 5 years. I ride a *pink* Titus Moto-lite and a Kona Stinky Deelux and am lucky to be so close to SO many diverse trails. I love riding cross country in Park City, downhill at Deer Valley, and freeriding in Moab. I also love to travel to ride, and hope to get to Whistler next fall. Some of my favorite places to ride are Moab, Brian Head, and Big Sky.
Hi everyone, My name is Mark I am 37 and a long time bike fanatic. I work in the Bicycle Industry so I talk bikes all day long and then go home and annoy my wife by talking all evening long. I ride anything on 2 wheels, commute on a Harley Davidson and turned all my coworkers into bike nuts. (not everyone that works inside the industry actually rides)
I just built my second single speed mountain bike (the 1st was 29r) and I now tool around towing my 8 month old daughter in the chariot.

Hi, I'm Mike, an old guy (51) from New England who rides year round. Mostly a roadie I also ride cross and mountain and raced a bit in my younger days. I have a nice ride up for auction right now if you're interested. Peace
Hi all. I realy enjoyed the intro's and thought I'd add mine. My name is Eric. I am 49 yr. old family guy. I am not a serious mt. biker but I still love to do it when I can. Last summer I rode a lot about 3X a week. I go through phases! I hope to do more of the same when it warms up. I may even go out today (Sat.). It's 45 (7.2 cel.) out and wet but it could be a lot worse as I am sure some of you know. We have a lot of beautiful trails out here in S. Oregon. To El Catalan. I only know one word in Catalan "Anak" (duck) which fits given I live in Oregon. Any way nice to meet all of you and happy biking!!
Larry from Allen, TX(Dallas area) 43---44 in two days :-( Many varied cross country trails around the area...Ride them all, as much as I can. Usually get to Colorado once a year to let gravity do the work for me..Love downhill. I have four bikes..Specialized Epic Marathon, Gary Fisher hard tail(still putting together), Specialized S-Works Roubaix roadie, Bianchi 928 Luna roadie.
Paul From San Diego North County. Currently ride Trek fuel 90 and a liquid. Unbelievable riding here in SOCAL. Big dream is road trip to MOAB and whistler. Unfortunately I'm in a "spousal fun prevention" program. Maybe I should just go out for ice cream some night......
Hi, I'm Nate, 40 years old, Married with 2 and 1 on the way. Started riding in the dirt when I was about 10. Built a klunker and didn't even know thats what they were called. I live in Arizona right now, Sedona rocks, MOAB is not that far away either. I ride a Cannondale Prophet 1 ('06 frame, highly upgraded). I still love a great hardtail though.
Haven't made the jump into DH/FR, don't expect that I will either. Maybe if I was 20 years younger!
Raced BMX as a kid, bought my first "Mountain Bike" in my mid 20's. Never got much into the whole road thing. Dirt and bikes just seem to be made for each other, have always loved the synthesis of the two, and anyway, cars hurt, as I have found out a couple of times over the years.
I love riding in Wyoming, Snow Range, Sierra Madres, truly amazing places.
I also enjoy combining outdoor activities with biking, i.e. MTB and fly fishing, Camping, fly fishing and MTB, you get the gist.
Greetings: 52 year old rider here. Not into racing, but you can find me in the most far out places where I live. (Sheboygan Wis.) Great biking city here along the shores of Lake michigan. Also some very nice MTB trails set up. I try to ride all year long, and I have several bikes. A few are geared up for pulling trailers for grocery shopping and seeing the festivals here. At the festivals here, they have guarded areas for bikes to be parked while the riders enjoy themselves. I am too big for a road bike so I stay with MTB and comfort bikes. I can't wait till gas is so high we can start riding on the freeways and interstates!
Great thread. I'm Eric. MTB mostly but recently reborn to roadie (was roadie in my teens).
I ride a Turner RFX trail bike with Hone / Saint components and you can guess that the bike is blinged out. Built it up myself (25 years flying and repairing helicopters as a Pilot/Mechanic/Inspector finally paid off).
Favorite ride is Fantasy Island in Tucson.
I do about 2000 miles a year. Mostly road lately due to a bad MTB crash in 06 (titanium wrist plate and a bad XC category bike that dumped me a few times and finally bit like a rattle snake, hence the change to Trail geometry).
So a friend has challenged me to start training for MTB race. We figure that in a year and a half we both might stand a chance at winning. Why? Cuz in a year and a half we'll both be 50 and that's a new category and there aren't many MTB racers at that age.
Oh, I am with some advocacy groups, I serve on a gov't bicycle committee, and am a lawyer that handles personal injury bike / auto cases.
And I love dirt. Been that way since I was a kid. Heck, come to think of it, I'm still a kid.
Hey all, my name is Larry (everyone just calls me Lar). I'm 40 years young and married to a wonderful wife (who puts up with all of my crazyness).
I was mostly a roadie but recently started riding trails on suggestions of a couple of friends. I didn't know if I would get into it so I went in with an entry level Trek 4300D. Got hooked not long after and I'm in the process of building my own trail on my property (6 acres, 4 acres still wooded).
Not a lot of trails around here where I live (1 by the university and 5 at the park). I've had a couple of run-ins with some renegade trees but nothing major. My nephew decides he wants a couple of jumps so I build some in the yard but he's skittish about them at first. So I go and hit one and end up (or should I say down) face first in the dirt. I have Shimano M647 and didn't have my shoes on. I was wearing flip flops. Foot comes flying off the pedals and WHAMO, into the dirt. My wife comes out and says "Do I have to remind you that you're not 20 anymore."
But hey, if you ride you are bound to eat some dirt. But I'm just going to keep trekin' on!!!
Hi. I'm Lance, a 34 year old Colorado native. I ride a Fezzari Cascade Peak, and love to ride all over (I am soooo lucky living in one of the best Mt. Biking Mecca's around, Colorado Springs, CO.) I ride in Palmer Park, North Cheyenne Canyon, all over in the mountains around Colorado, etc.
Hi, Ellen here, 37 from the Metro Detroit area. Been riding my bike to work all summer and destroying my (cheapo by mtb standards) chain store bike on some local mountain bike trails. Pontiac Lake and Brighton are good rides, Stoney Creek has a new skills park. Plan on loosing some skin there! I love to get out to the Novi Tree Farm, nice twisty-turny single track through a cocoon of pine trees, feels like another world. I just bid on a Cannondale, after some more practice this fall and a few upgrades over the winter, I hope to get into a couple races in the spring.
My name is ross and I'm a 34 year old from north east Ohio and I have been mountain biking since about 1993. I love to travel for new places to ride. I mostly ride my Schwinn Moab XC but sometimes I like to get jiggy with it across town on my TREK BRUISER street/dirt jumper. I also like cruisin my old GIANT something or other turned single speed. Cycling is a blast and look forward to going to work even more when I get to commute on my bike.
