Did you contact the seller? I had the same problem earlier today, but I did not download the software first.
The player I purchased the display stopped at the HOUR GLASS and would not continue on to the MAIN MENU. I contacted the seller, and followed the information from the attachment that was sent to me later. It took a couple of tries, but it finally worked.
But I did not use the software that came in the packaging. I scanned that CD and my antivirus software WARNED me of a virus. The information I received from the seller via the attachment I scanned it as well, and no viruses cam up.
