Poor Quality MP3 Players from China

I would be careful when purchasing MP3, MP4 players from China. I purchased one and it worked for 2 days. The AC charger prong broke off. The support disc would not uninstall off my computer. The MP3 player itself froze and displayed an hour glass icon. My advice is save your money and by a known brand device like IPOD, Zune, Sansa, etc. I am taking the loss on this one. I made the mistake of purchasing a second from the same vendor. This was prior to the first device "crash and burning". Anyone else have similar experiences.

I had the same problem. It's been a bummer. I'm pretty sure we probably bought from the same person. Because it sounds identical. I am no longer buying anything that isn't authorized. Anyways. sorry to hear it happened to someone else.

Yes, it happened to me as well. And I also purchased it from China. I am just going ahead and take the loss myself.

I just bought a nice looking brand new MP3 player for 1 penny (shipping was 29.00). It would not hold a charge from the get-go. Its not worth my time to look into this and will take it as a loss. Next time I will buy one from the local Dept. Store and keep a receipt to take back if there are problems.

What really gets me is that the seller does not even have the common courtesty to leave me positive feedback as I went thru the motions of paying them for an item that did not even work.

I agree with all of the posts so far. The inexpensive Chinese players are horrible. I paid $1.00 plus $35.00 S&H from Hong Kong. Has anyone else noticed the hissing sound as soon as the MP3 player is activated? The sound quality is much, much worse than expected. The including ear buds are inferior, so I bought $20.00 Phillips ear buds as a replacement. Still terrible quality. The sound hiss is built into the player, likely from electrical interference with the battery. Worthless instruction manual, useless included driver and firmware CD, hit and miss displaying of pictures, videos, and even MP3s. I have not figured out how to format JPGs to actually show up on the screen, all I get (so far) is "Format Error". I can make GIFs display, but the quality sucks, so it's a useless picture viewer (so far). If the MP3 bitrate is low (such as ebooks), forget it, they likely will not play. Shows a battery life indicator, but there is no way to determine what it is actually trying to tell you. Accessing files through the player is very hard to do, due to its inferior operating firmware. I bought the MP4 8GB MP3 player primarily as a USB flash drive for transferring files from one computer to another, it does that just fine since it is plug and play and shows up on all computers as "Removable Disk". Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to get a decent player. I too will eat the cost of my Chinese knockoff and get a Zune or i-touch. I can't give a auction number because the seller I used is no longer a registered user, so I couldn't even give feedback. I would have had to leave a positive because after all, I got EXACTLY what I paid for.

when buying mp3 or mp4 players from china there are certain brands that usually have high quality.

Meizu
Onda
Ramos
Teclast
Smart Q

I usually stick to those brands and so far I haven't steered wrong by messing with the major players over there.
