I was a Broncos fan for 31 years; used to be a radio sports guy in Denver from 80-84.
I have had no real problem during their numerous ups and downs. But Pat Bowlen's hiring of Jive Assed McDaniels was the straw that broke this ex-Bronco fans back. The team has no charismatic or interesting personalities; no dedicated talents. McDimwit drove Cutler away and is left with a bunch of whiny underachievers. My biggest problem was that McDaniel clearly can't lead, and Bowlen is out of touch. The guy was a terrible hire; right up there with Al Davis bringin' on Callahan, Wade Phillips pretty much everywhere and Marty Morninweg in Detroit
I thought about it long and hard. I now own one black and one white JaMarcus Russell jersey. I like the fact that the Raiders are young, hungry and totally off the "experts" radar. Indeed, they do seem to have been a comedy of errors, but I'm not phased by that. I like the underdog, which Denver used to be. Now, I am all silver and black attack ! I used to wonder how guys like Lyle Alazado and Bill Romanowski could switch from baby blue to black. Well, now I know.
If you are in or near the Austin TX area...let me know where Raider fans will be throwin' down for the season opener....I will be there. JUST WIN, BABY !
