While I love the clean look of crisp 50s or 60s Omega, they are hard to find without a refinished dial. If collector / investment value is a major factor in the purchase, should I stay away from refinished dials??
Yes. I know its a short answer, so let me ad and explaination; nothing can beat 100% original in hard cash collector/investment value. But if you also want to flash them.... Many will not be impressed by an old faded yellow by smoke dial.
Hi, he is correct....original dials are a major plus! I own a 70 Mark 2 that still has the original dial and crystal...mine has been untouched and will keep it that way.Bought it in Nam while on R&R nad it still keeps great time .Thought about sendin it off for restoral but decided to keep it the way it came from Omega. I see Mark 2 and 3's all the time on Ebay and the cases have been polished to a mirror like finish..they are destroying the value of the watch by doing that..correct cases should have either the sunburst or radial finih to the case and NEVER, I repeat Never....a polished case...my advise is to keep it all original no matter what. Good luck!
