I am looking to purchase an Omega seamaster watch and I came across one today and I cannot tell if the watch is authentic or fake. Would anyone be able to look at the watch and tell what it is? Thank you!
This watch looks like a legitimate omega from about the year 1995 Omega doesn't manufacture this particular model of watch anymore. But on to the watch its self, he seems to be trying vary hard to hide the serial number on the back, and the numbers on the bracelet. He also doesn't show any sort of papers and or warranty cards proving some sort of authenticity. I don't think I would trust him. Sorry I couldn't help you out earlier
Papers and warranty cards don't prove anything about authenticity. It always surprises me that people can see replica manufacturers capable of manufacturing convincing complex replica watches out of steel, but don't think they're also capable of producing convincing simple paper warranty documents. All of the high-end replicas come with fake paperwork and boxes.
Also, genuine boxes, warranty cards, manuals, hang tags, etc. are sold on eBay and the internet. Scammers frequently buy these genuine accessories to pair with replicas to defraud buyers.
Lesson: Papers & warranty cards prove absolutely nothing and are useless for authentication purposes.
