Useful Funny
Most people do not play paintball to simulate armed combat. Paintball players are content knowing that paintball is quite different from combat. You guys should try paintball ;)

well paint ball is basicly like you said simulate real combat. paint ball sells realistic grenades, guns mines heavy weapons. and when your playing it feels so real. parents hate because thier son or daugther after playing for some years want to join the army. and we both know that when get shot and die you can'[t get up and say lets play again.

man nono638 is right you nee to try paintball cuz if ur tryin to sim war there are far more p-ballers then a-softers to my knowledge. do the math more ppl playin the more ppl to shoot, trust me one time at a big game like idk D-AY youll get the war feelling you want. unless airsoft game can atract more than 4,000 players go right ahead, me im gonna let the paint fly. . . or try both

paintball is as close as you can get to hunting other human beings without any fear of mortality. it can get the adrenals going, and if yourself and those who play with you really apply youirselves, it can be real fun exploring tactics and engaging other players.

The biggest difference between paintball and airsoft is that in paintball there is an immediate, personal penalty when you get shot (and no, I'm not talking about being taken out of the game). The reason paintball is often viewed as more realistic despite the slower velocity and higher visibility of the "bullets" is that there is some mild but noticeable pain associated with being shot. You don't just get pinged by a plastic beebe (I do play airsoft as well, so I realize there is some pain, it's just very, very minimal, and often unnoticed) and say "oops, I'm out". You sincerely want to avoid getting shot because there is more to it than just a disqualification. That adds much more adrenaline to the game, which, face it, is the only reason we play. The other aspect is that even though airsoft guns can be more realistic which is cool, there's no evidence that you've been shot (or shot someone) which is the most gratifying feeling in the game, and a colored "blood splatter" on you're chest is more realistic than airsoft will ever get.

yeah you're definitely right the whole pain part definitely adds to the adrenaline. i used to play airsoft but it just doesn't hurt AT ALL, and that takes the fun out of it. theres also the intimidation factor of paintball- getting painted head to toe is a lot more intimidating than a small red spot. Paintball all the way.
