my wife wants another dog !!we had two and there gone now i kinda don't mind the idea but i don't miss cleaning the yard everyday and the grass is green again and those vet bills it seems the doctor makes things up just to get you in there !!
I think every home should share the love of a dog. It just isn't home without it. Let her have it. And if the cleaning is a problem.....get a small dog so there isn't so much cleaning. :)
I think you should let her have the dog. Like the other poster said, they are the best friends that you can have. I understand that the clean up can be a pain, but the love that they give in return is way worth it!! If you are looking for a particular breed, please check your local shelters and rescues... there are plenty of purebreds and lovable mutts in the places waiting for their forever home :)
I also agree about having a smaller dog, check with your vet about a breed that is not so high maintaince. I think women who are used to having children around then they grow up and leave the nest, it helps to have a animal that depends on you.. sort of like kids. If thats not your case, then my moto is a animals love is good for the heart.
