I'm trying to be strong for everyone and I seem to be putting on a good show. But I hurt deep inside soo bad, and I'm scared for what the future holds for me. How should I act?

Hi calbright,

I'm very sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It is really difficult to hear, and I sympathize. I was diagnosed last summer.

It's normal to be scared! And you don't need to put on a show of being strong. Hopefully, you have others..family members or friends whom you can lean on as you go through this.

If you like, you can contact me through ebay and we can "talk".

I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I truly sympathize! My husband was recently diagnosed with lung cancer.
It's very hard to put on a show!
I think that having hope and a good sense of humor can make a difference. More than anything it helps your spirit and all of the things you'll be going through to go a little smoother. That is our experience anyways. I hope this helps you too!
Good luck to you! I will keep you in my prayers and God Bless!

i am sorry to hear about your illness but i pray you will turn to our great physician and healer in this time. he truly has a plan and place for you, we can not always understand such things but he will enable you and carry you forever. the hard part is for those who must remain and carry on no matter what happens and you will be a source of strength and faith for them because you will be supplied from a holy source. i am here if you ever want to talk, and know i will be praying and thinking of you.

Hi, I am Robert Strother (wkmmfa) I can only tell You Please get a second opinion as to Your treatment. I was given radiation when I never should have been. That was six years ago, I have never healed from it. I was or once was a Tree Service Owner in Seattle, WA. My Mother was sick and wanted me to come home to Mississippi, which I did. I moved the whole outfit all of My Equipment. I was 39 then strong as a horse, I had to give up My Life & health Ins. But I never got sick. 6 Months after My 40 birthday is when My Life fell apart. I have spent the last 6 going on 7 years, Doctor after Doctor trying to find a fix. I have 2 good Doctors, 1 here in Hawaii, and 1 in Mississippi. They tell Me the truth, there is no cure for over exposure to Radiation. All I have going for Me is, 1 I am young, 2 I have one hell of a will not to give up. I used to be able to run up a 90' spare pole, now I can barely get up the steps. I took everything I thought made Me a Man away, I know different now. Even as I lay in My bed as Doctors Orders as much as possible. I have learned how not to feel sorry for Myself, and do something positive everyday, even if it is just step out and look at the sky on bad days.
I will Pray for You, fore I found God in this, and being a Man dose not mean You can lift 200 pounds over Your head, LOL, My limit is 15 pounds now, and not over My HEAD.
Ebay keeps Me busy, doing something positive.
If You need an anonymous sorce of relief You can read My Profile, and feel free to contact Me at lopaka-45@hotmail.com
My Heart goes out to You, but I have learned it is not on the outside that makes us who we are, But on the Inside.
May God Bless You.

Don't lose faith, think positive always. It really effects your outcome. Research and find out all of your treatment options, knowledge is the ability to control your uncertaintity. AND, hang in there, I am a 9 year and 8 month survivor. I opted to have a modified radical mastectomy and thus did not have to endure radiation and chemo. Email me if you want to discuss more, I have been down that road and know your fears. GOD BLESS, Vivian McDeerman (mcdeermanvj@yahoo.com)

Think positive always. A positive attitude is half the battle. It really effects your outcome. Research treatment options, knowledge is power which gives you the ability to control your uncertaintity. I was diagnosed at 40 and am still here working with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I opted to have a radical mastectomy and and reconstruction and did not have to have radiation and chemo. Now I am a thankful senior citizen these days at age 55. Thankful for every birthday I celebrate. Working with Relay has been very rewarding. You can contact the American Cancer Society for many answers. Get a second opinion. My plastic surgeon developed the reconstruction technique and now teaches at the University of Mississippi. Dr. John McCraw, Reconstructive Surgeon of 2500 N State St, Jackson Mississippi (MS). He is wonderful. I must say that if I knew then what I know now I would have had a double mastectomy. If in doubt take it out is not as safe as a mastectomy. Don't be afraid but be honest with your feelings. There are many people that will gladly offer support. Email me at theresacadams@yahoo.com or call in the evening at 757-442-7898 if you want to talk, I have been where you are and know your fears. Never give up hope. Breast cancer treatments have come a long way. I am having a charity auction his weekend for my Relay for Life team as helping to find a cure for Breast Cancer is inportant to me. I am also on our local board and chairman of the survivor reception. Please feel free to call. You can also get a great deal of info and assistance by contacting the American Cancer Society. They have numerous programs and great staff to direct you to hospitals that specialize in Breast health treatments. MD Anderson is a great hospital. We are in a rural area and have a small hospital and cancer center. I traveled to Virginia Beach area for my 2nd opinion and was advised to see Dr. McCraw. He left the area to teach again. I do hope some of this information will help you. Keep that positive attitude and "Fight Like A Girl"!!! I am seller flamingo1961. You are in my prayers. All the Best,
