I have long been a fan of SoCal punk. There are numerous great bands from the LA/Orange County area. The East Coast has brought us some legendary stuff as well... So I ask...
East Coast?
or
West Coast?
Just a topic for discussion. Not trying to start a war like the rap guys...
;0)
Useful Funny
WORD!! Dont make me cap you! It doesn't matter wher the music comes from, as long as it kicks ass. Music is music, regardless of the state or country. So the next time your'e rollin' through the hood, bumpin some Rancid or Ramones, just remember that we all hate the same things, and we all hold similar values, and AMERICAN PUNK ROCK can burn just as many villages as the European stuff!!!

East coast- SSD, Minor Threat, Gang Green, Ramones, Jerrys Kids, Gorilla Biscuts, Slapshot, Misfits, DYS, Freeze, Scream.......West coast- Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, 7 Seconds, Flipper, Germs, X, Redd Kross TSOL, and don't forget middle America Necros, Negative Approach, White Cross, MDC, Dicks, Husker Du, just too many to name. As far as better? East coast when I was young, but looking back now, the CA. bands had more of an influence as time passes.

I'm going to ditto on Voodoophd and add The Exploited, Damned, and SubHumanz. Still got a soft spot for Echo&bunnyman, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, and good ol Souxsie Souix. Robert Smith and peter murphy are my Gods. Whatever happened to DagNasty? SkinnyPuppy? Front242? I don't know if I'll ever part with my vinyl collection. Got Suicidal on blue heart shape. Just the Love Songs. PUNX NOT DEAD it lives in my head.lol Liz

How bout the FAR EAST coast? Japan's got some great punk bands (check my profile).

Seriously, there's good music all round. But I like mostly original '77 era stuff from all coasts and no coasts. And Japanese garage punk.
