i trying to get into the flying helicopter hobby but i live in chicago not a lot of helis here and i am trying to buy a good heli for a good price but i no luck on ebay to much do you were i can get one at beside ebay i will like to get a raptor 50.
Hello, if you have not had any experience on rc helis, I'll recommend you to buy a simulator software first, I have one myself which is "Realflight G4", search it on internet, you can buy it easily, about$199.(oh it's now G4.5) When you can control the virtual heli on the screen, go buy a real rc heli, my first heli is Raptor30, now I have a retired Raptor 50, and a T-Rex 600N, a T-rex 250 in active. Cheers, Billy
I purchased a night ranger 3D Micro helicopter as a beginner and let me tell you flying these things will take time to learn, I agree with the software for beginners I have smashed mine into pieces three times and counting! I’m getting better though, but nothing to brag about.
what will you say is a good heli a raptor or a trex. sound like a jurassic park battle.:p i have done more looking into thunder tiger it is good strong company and they do put good heli but i just hear about trex and how good it is.
raptor (thunder tiger) v. trex (align) is a typical ford v. chevy question. both are quality aircraft capable of the same types of maneuvers. align is newer on the scene and has newer technology and design. the raptor has been around for +10 years. if you buy used, you need to make sure you get a modern raptor (10 years is an eternety in rc technology---would you buy a 10 year old computer?)
that said, you'd be best served by finding a local club and purchasing what THEY fly, whichever brand it is--hirobo, thunder tiger, century, align, etc. you will receive far better support (that you WILL need) from someone in person rather than trying to figure it out with online research.
hey buster, i fly helis, the trex 450 is an awesome machine, are you just starting in the heli hobby, or have you been in it for a while? if you are an experienced pilot id say the trex is excellent for you, but if you are new to it it is way too much machine! For a beginner i would recommend a novus cp or something close to that, its easy to handle, relatively innexpensive to repair and flies relly good and stable! any questions just ask ill do what i can to help a fellow rc'er! Dylan
get a larger heli (trex 500 etc if budget permits). these are more stable and will be easy on your fingers. plus points to the simulator. you will save a lot of money.
I have a helimax cpv3 (its electric).I started flyin this thing with no experience and it was an still is a very hard hobby to get a handle on.I think I need a gyro to keep it stable so I can get longer flight times but atleast its still in one piece.
I did not see one person ask you if you had ever flown a helicopter, now most of the replies where from guys that want to help and most are correct larger is more stable but there is some thing to be said for the learning curve, most of us started out years ago on stuff that sorry to say sucked in comparison with what is out today! I have helped a few people learn to fly helicopters and it seems starting with a 1000 dollar learning machine just dose not work well for every one! Most newbies get fed up and let the Helli's just sit and collect dust and talk about the time they flew it, I have seen most really spend the most time and of coarse money (but it is the way most people learn) in the Heli world by getting a small easy to fly co-axe and going up to a CP-Pro and then a 450-700 it is the expensive route but it is just the best way to jump in this hobby, plus this guy lives in Chicago the windy city!!! get a eflite MCX or a CX and maybe MSR all are ones you can easy fly indoors and local hobby shop probably has all parts in stock and trust me you will need parts LMAO even I get the door frames or lamp once in a while lol! not to mention but great to chase the cats and dogs with
