Hello rockhounds
I have been visiting mineral, fossil and dinosaur displays at several universities on the Canadian prairies. Since I can't attach my photo here-in, go have a look at a mysteriously pitted half-dome of a large rock on flickr(dot)com, posted under subarcticmike. Lemme know if anyone has seen anything like it!
Useful Funny
I went ahead and flickr'd your name and was able to connect.
I wish you would facebook this.
This is one fantastic rock.I think it is from outerspace or some kind of encode seed device sent here.I see no natural explanation.
I shared the photo with Coast to Coast AM.
I wish you would join me on facebook.com (Rick Beckner) . . . You would be a big hit with my friends.I spent 12 years in exploration geology and realized how much I loved Exposed Bed Rock Geology like you do in your flickr photos.I never could figure out which one is you.

I carry a line of Petrified wood in my ebay store called MYSTERY.
A huge tree got petrified right up into the agate vein. The hot acidic silica burnt up the tree to a crispy black, then petrified right in place.

I named the tree MYSTERY.

I find it a true mystery that the organic(tree) and the inorganic(silica) could marry as one.See below item

Hi Rick
Thx for your visit and comments. I lean towards a natural origin for that mystery rock, just that the biology / paleontology needs some work done for this kind of specimen. Sorry, but I don't facebook.

Hi wireworks55
Thank you for all of your kind comments. If you see a rock or formation not identified in any of my photos, please ask me via a comment on that flickr photo. And there are more rocks and oddities that can be searched for via my page of Favorites on flickr. All the best!

Amazing photo, im sorry to break it to you but its not from outer space. Ive seen a smaller specimin before at a rock and mineral expo, it is an ancient form of coral- 90% sure- but the ones i saw were ping pong ball size. This one is a real beauty!
