Hello Rush faithful, Me and my buds were on the way back from the concert last night and were pondering about what were Rush's best instrumentals. It really is tough to narrow them down. Here is what I came up with for my all time favorite Rush Instrumentals. 1. LaVilla Strangiato (Hemispheres) 2. Where's my thing? Part 4 gangster of boats trilogy (Roll the Bones) 3.YYZ (Moving Pictures) 4.The Main Monkey Business (Snakes and Arrows) 5.Overture (2112)
If you would like to ponder on this subject and tell me your favorites, I'd love to hear 'em. Rock on Rush faithful
Yeah, their instrumentals are ALL great. VERY ironically, my favorite instrumental by them is probably "Leave That Thing Alone" which i believe is the only one not mentioned but on any given day my favorites can change. Very hard to choose.
I totally forgot about "Leave that thing alone". Now that you restarted my brain, I have to put that one near the top of the list. That one is a great tune. You are right, it depends on the mood or the day as to which instrumental will make the top of your list. La Villa Strangiato will always be my #1 but "Leave that thing alone" is definitely a masterpiece near the top.
Hey, thanks very much for that. And i agree, La Villa is brilliant, as is all of "Hemispheres." Didn't get to catch them this year but i enjoyed the tour discussion updates. I saw them several times on the Roll The Bones tour, which was really spectacular...and my home-made backstage pass ALMOST got me backstage too. Haha. Take care.
