I enjoyed the S&A tour setlist. The only thing I thought could be different was less songs off the new album and more "classics". They had 9 songs of S&A which I though was a bit excessive for concert play. Don't get me wrong, I really love S&A but I would have been more pleased with more classics. For those who weren't fortunate enough to see the first go around of the S&A tour, this was the setlist: 1.Limelight 2.Digital man 3.Entre Nous 4.Mission 5.Freewill 6.The Main monkey business 7.The Larger bowl 8.Secret touch 9.Circumstances 10.Between the wheels 11.Dreamline 12.Far cry 13.Workin' them angels 14.Armor and sword 15.Spindrift 16.The way the wind blows 17.Subdivisions 18.Natural Science (very nice) 19.Witch Hunt (Nicer) 20.Malignant Narcissism (Drum solo) 21.Hope 22.Summertime Blues (not all dates) 23.Spirit of Radio 24.Tom Sawyer Encore: 25.One little victory 26.A passage to Bangkok 27. YYZ (awesome finale) They have stated that they are going to revamp the setlist for '08 so who knows what we will hear. Whatever they will play I'm sure will be awesome. If you didn't make the '07 gig, please do yourself a favor and try and attend the extended tour. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!!! Rock on Rush fans!!!
I've read a lot of negative comments on various websites about the number of new songs on the current tour, but I didn't mind it at all. Of course, two of my favorites weren't on the set list: Faithless and Bravest Face. Figures!
I hadn't heard they were revamping for this year's tour. I went last summer, but I'm going again this summer (my 9th Rush concert!), so I can't wait to hear what they've added. What are the odds they'll play "The Trees"?? Probably slim to none, but one can always hope!
Whatever they play, you know it's gonna be fantastic, so if you haven't made it yet, break that piggy bank open and get some tickets!
Just wanted to let you know that your prayers have been answered. They are replacing "Circumstances" with "The Trees". A few others are changed but mostly the same songs.
i persoanally loved the set. you can't play everything or make everyone happy. rush has been around long enough that individuals are going to like different eras and disagree on which is the best. rush is my favorite group and been that way for along time. i love all their stuff and appreciate listening to whatever the guys feel like playing. neal once stated that they have to feel comfortable playing whatever they choose for the set. even the best in the world have to knock off the cob webs. even precious diamonds have to be polished before the big ball, that why is some of the old stuff isn't play anymore.
I have been to every tour except for the first tour and Fly By Night. They have never disappointed in their shows. So for me the set list is always great. I saw them 3 times on the first leg of S & A tour, and will see them 2 more times on the second leg.
Just got back from the Albuquerque show and man what a show. The set list was great, a mix of of all the great material. Like Geddy said "We have way to many songs to play". The 28 songs they played was a great balance. Looking forward now to the Red Rocks show in Denver
I just wanted to let everyone know about a cool interview that a radio program called "Rockline" did recently. They interviewed Alex and Geddy and played a bunch of tunes off the new "Snakes and Arrows Live" CD. They have this interview available for replay at www.rocklineradio.com I found the questions the people called in were very interesting. It gives the average person some perspective on what its like to be on tour and what they do in their spare time etc... Do go check this out if you haven't already. Rock on fellow Rush fans!!!
Just got back from concord,CA Snakes& Arrows tour and it was unbelievable! the performance was at the highest level i have ever seen(and i have seen alot 50+) going to L.A. to see them again outstanding!
We thought it was great! I named my son Geddy Lee and we went to the concert in Las Vegas N.V.,First row !! on his 10th Birthday !! he got a pick from Alex Lifeson! it was the best birthday ever!
I was looking for that RUSH interview on Rockline and only see the May 9,2007 interview (w/o music) in the archives. Is this the one you are referring to? If not, can you send a link to the latest one? Thanks!
To ripken4ever: The interview I am referring to was dated from April of this year. Unfortunately it appears that rockline radio only archives them for free for just a couple weeks after they originally aired. I think you can access any of their interviews if you join their club which comes with a price. I'm not sure how much it is, but in this day and age of tight spending and all, I can understand if people don't want to or better yet have the extra money to spend on something like this. I'm sure if you searched the net hard enough, there is someplace out there where they may have this interview available for free. It is a cool interview so I hope you can find it. Good luck and rock on fellow Rush fan.
I was lucky enough to get to see both Dallas shows on 08-11-07 and 04-25-08, and I am glad they varied the playlist a little bit so it didn't seem like the same show all the way through.
Not any one set list would please everyone for everyone has different songs that they cheerish or like better than others.
