without the key in your car will your radio work? i can just walk out to the car and push the radio button and the radio will come on - not the cd palyer but the radio will. i have had this 99 93 se convertible for 5 years and if this a feature and never noticed it. this car has not been the same since i shipped it from sc to alaska!!! th car will now start without the clutch being in and in any gear!!! i am in fairbanks and the closest dealership is in anchorage 400 miles away. if anybody knows anything write me at karmenghia74@hotmail.com. thanks

The radio will continue to function because the center of your ignition switch is not popping up when you remove the key. With the key removed, try tapping lightly on the tumbler area and see if it pops up. Probably needs to be disassembled, cleaned, and lubed. As far as the starting in gear issue, your car does not have a clutch safety switch. All older 9-3 Saabs will start without the clutch pedal depressed. Hard to believe right?
