I love his books, especially the Pip and Flinx ones. I was hoping someone could jog my memory about the name of one of his books. It's about a family traveling arcoss country in an RV and they have all sorts of strange adventures.
Yes, I like his Star Wars novel "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" . . . It is especially appealing as it was published, I think, before Empire Strikes Back and took a truly unique, hard turn, -in a completely different direction. I remember, "Cachalot" was also very entertaining. Will have to check out Pip/Flinx . . . I've heard of them but have never gotten around to those! :)
No offense, but "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" was the worst Star Wars, Alan Dean Foster or any other book I have read. I couldn't even finish it and being that I an a devoted Star Wars fan (I've read everything that has come out) that is saying a lot. I have enjoyed most of his other works though.
My favorites are the Pip and Flinx also, but he has written so many books it is hard to remember all of them. I think the first books I read by him were Star Trek novelizations, I am not sure but I think they were from the Cartoon version. I have them somewhere. (I guess this reveals my age, how many people remember the Saturday morning Star Trek Cartoon.) I think my favorite non-series book is CyberWay. If you have not read this, you should. It is relatively near future, an interesting mix of american indian, asian, and computers.
