Cricut Classes

Hi everyone,

I need your opinion on something. I have been teaching Cricut classes in my store for the past 6 months, and they have been very popular! It seems that many people have Cricuts and tons of cartridges, but they never use them. I was amazed at how many people hadn't taken them out of the boxes yet :( Unfortunately, not everyone can attend my classes, since I have customers spread out all over the country. Some of my customers have suggested that I make the directions and pictures of the projects available for sale. Does this sound like something any of you would be interested in? The directions would include what sizes and colors to cut things and which cartridges they come off of. Also, how much do you think a fair price would be to charge for the directions. These are all original layouts using lots of the special feature buttons on the Cricut and enhanced with inking, chalking, etc.

Many people know how to use their Cricuts, but they get stuck for ideas. They go to put a layout together and all they come up with plain letters and boring shapes.

Thanks for your help!

Pam

Hello, I wish the stores around me had classes on Cricuts I would attend, but they don't. I'm not very creative, but I can follow directions. I'm very interested in buying instructions with a picture. I'd love to see layouts too.

Great idea! I think a lot of us not so creaive people would be interested.

Thanks for the reply Stacie! I'm trying to figure out a good price. Some ladies have said that they love the idea and would like to buy a kit with the paper and everything. What do you think about that?

This is a great idea!! I myself have not been very "creative" with my Cricut. I am more of a "show" learner instead of a "read directions" learner, so have not grasped some of the advanced uses of my Cricut. I know I am missing out on the advantages of the full potential of my Cricut and would love to learn. Would your kits include instructions on which "buttons" to push and how many times? LOL.
I myself would be interested in the kit, if the price is right!!
You have a great idea here!!!

I think alot of people are in the same boat! Yes, the instructions would tell you which keys to press and how many times...LOL I had one suggestion to email the instructions and pictures, therefore there wouldn't be any shipping. I thought that was a good idea, but if you want the colors to match the sample picture, I would have to send a kit with paper. Which would you prefer? What do you think a fair price would be for just the instructions?

Thanks!

I think selling the "pattern" for your layouts are a wonderful idea. I have a local store that offers cricut classes and everyone really seems to enjoy the class. They are always a big hit. I think a resonable price for the kit including paper would be $13.00 to $15.00. Maybe throw in a few extra coordinating brads, eyelets and ribbon, some of us really like to embelish it! Although recieving just the instructions would allow me to use up some of the paper and accessories I currently have, I think I would be willing to pay $4.00 to $6.00 just for the pattern.
Does anyone else have an idea as to the price.

Good luck Pam, The small store with the BIG HEART!! :)

Yes, the pattern idea is "win-win" exceptional idea for those who have a stash of papers they would like to dwindle down (and I am guilty of having a hugh stash~~saving for a rainy day... ;-) ). On the other hand, I also like having the option of a kit. So maybe offer an option of pattern only or kit (which would include the pattern anyways). I also would be willing to pay the $4 for the pattern to be emailed; or $13-$15 for a kit including extra papers and embellies. If you decide to go for this, please put me on your list. Have a great day,

Thanks ladies! I had never thought of offering both...for some reason I was thinking it had to be one or the other. I'm glad I asked for opinions! I have posted a picture on my blog of one of the kits that we did in class. http://blogs.ebay.com/pammy4ever29

I think that is a great idea. Just don't make too many kits ahead I put up 9 different ones and 1 sold, but I made about 70 kits. Now I can't sell for $4.99

Try video taping your next class & review it as you write your instructions and if you do kits include speed and pressure requirements for different paper types. People seem to be really nervous about wasting paper so they get frustrated with it until they get the hang of it. Good Idea I hope it works.
