I absolutely adore to sew. If I could get away with it I could sew all day. I enjoy designing, making, & selling my purses. But housework is always trying to drag me away from my sewing machine. Am I the only one who feels like this. I was talking to a lady that worked in the fabric department of a store I go to and I asked her why they shrank the fabric department and she told me that the store decided that sewing is a fading art. I don't think its true, but I could be wrong. Oh well, doesn't matter to me I'll just go to the city and spend my money there. so I guess its there loss. I hope everyone has a great day.
I had to laugh at this...seems to me Quilt Shops and Fabric Departments WITHIN stores Are getting scarce...and Are shrinking! Even thought my Quilt Studio within my home has bolts and bolts and bolts of quilt cotton fabrics, I sometimes just like to go shopping around for what's NEW out there ~ I have found that eBay or OTHER online places (even WITH shipping and/or shipping and handling) one can get the BEST bargains on fabrics for sewing many designed items! Like you, I've designed many an item over the years (I am almost 70) and have been sewing since I was very young! Keep creating, hon...it's a blessing and very fulfilling! Have a great Sunday! :)
