Hello:

I have a large amout of buttons -- I am still counting but I must have at least 1000 Cards ( 2 to 4 buttons per card ) - All are in very good condition - like new - never used

I not not sure how old they are but most are plastic - a few wood and metal - Not vintage like glass or bakelite -

Most are La Mode or Le Chic - Some say Made in W germany - Holland - Italy - Japan on the back.

Here is my question - What is the best way to list them ? As one big lot ?

Break them up into Color ? Size ? Shape ? ( Example list all the red in one lot )

Or sort them all out and put any duplicate buttons on as one lot ( example - if I have 2 - 3 or 4 cards of the same button , for a total of 6 to 12 buttons )

I do not do much sewing and just not sure if anyone would rather buy a small amount of say 6 to 12 buttons or buy a huge lot instead ?

Any Ideas would be helpful.. Thank You

hi hmmmmm, well i am not sure. However here is my suggestion, take a look at some of the auctions that are going on now for buttons. That will probably give you a starting point. Also if you blog you could go and ask this question in a blog. Good Luck!

I think breaking them up into COLORS is your BEST bet! However let me state this as a rather ''Seasoned'' Seller (I'm seasoned elsewhere online, as I only sell on eBay part time, but have been selling off and on, online for about 15 years, hon!) Anyway IF you have any FANCY or NON-Plastic buttons, in the wood and metal types...you might sell those using KEY words in a written description like: Victorian, Country French, Colonial, Gingerbread, Prim or Primitive, Vintage-Looking, etc., ~ depending upon IF they look like Victorian, Primitive or Country French, etc. buttons! Of course a good pic's worth a 1000 (key)words! LOL!
Another good idea is AFTER you break them up, WEIGH them and make sure to MENTION the weight within EACH description-along with the approximate amount!
Good Luck, Be Blessed! :)
