Do most of you collect your shot glasses from places you have been, or do you just collect them?

Wow a long time and no replies... Let me tell you.

I started collecting shooters from places I had been. Then Family and friends started giving me shot glasses from where they had been. Then I would hit a rummage or goodwill store and find cool brand shot glasses. Now I just buy what I like. That's what makes a collection your collection. I'm 185 glasses strong and now I collect other bar ware like martini glasses, highballs, and pilsner glasses.

There ya go that's me!

I used to have this fixed rule -- whenever I get a shot glass of a city, I must visit that city and get the shot glass from that city at that time on that location.

But since missing many opportunities in several trips, I changed the rule to: I must have visited that place sometime before but I don't have to get it right there or at that particular time.

WIth this rule change, it gave me a brand new game and my shot glass collection just exploded afterwards.

I'm at over 400 pieces now, and 99% of my glasses are places I've been to before.

But I know I sorta cheated a little because I included airport layover stops too. Well, you can say I was technically in that city, but of course, I never even left the airport to explore anywhere, but if I had touched that place geographically, than it's all good to collect a shot glass from that place in my book. :) I also added ones from places like Disneyland or Yellowstone Park even though I haven't been back to those places since I was a kid! But hey, I was there before, so that's what matters, according to my personal rule.

I don't intend to bend the rule any further like including shots from places that friends or relatives visited before or else I'd never stop shopping for them!?!
