So I'm looking into buying a t-mobile sidekick II, but I have AT&T as my provider so I need to buy an unlocked sidekick right? How does that work? Do I take the phone to AT&T and ask them to activate it, or do I have to wait till my contract is up to get it activated? I've always bought phones made by my provider so I'm somewhat clueless as to how this works. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks
As far as I know it's much cheaper to just change your provider to T-Mobile. I'm not an expert in the subject but if you call AT&T I'm sure they can help you out more. I don't think they can support another provider's phone without making some kind of deal with the other company. As far as the phone being "unlocked", as long as the cell isn't previously used, it's already open for new info, Call either T-mobile or AT&T.
