I've been snowboarding for 12 years now, and I've noticed that both the sponsored riders and the rookies are getting younger and younger. So, my question is this, is 28 years old considered an "old man" for our beloved sport?
You are only as young as you feel or think. There are guys and girls in the industry that are that age. I think it may be harder to try and break into the industry @ that age though. Terje set the world record for highest air a couple of seasons back and he is 30 something. I could be wrong. Have fun!
I'm 53 and going on my 22nd season since crossing over to "the dark side" on 2 edges. I started out like almost everybody else riding "surf-skate" style and riding pow. I discovered race boards, plate bidings and hard boots in 92 (?) and never looked back.
Most of the cats I ride with are also hard booters in their 30s - 50s that crave the carve, so you're still a youngster compared to us old farts who ride fast although a bit more carefully now. Doing endos at 40 mph hurts a LOT more than it used to.....oy,... my achin' back!
