Hello all, My fiance is a die hard Cardinals fan, but he's never been to a game. I know nothing about what sections are good or where the best place is to buy tickets for a single game. Hoping to take him to St. Louis for a game for his birthday. Want to keep price under 100.oo a ticket the beginning of May, any suggestions on sections and best place to buy tickets. your help is greatly appreciated. thanks
Any section. Who cares. The game is what counts. I personally like the bleachers. I have always wanted to catch a homerun ball and was very close to one of Mcgwires during the chase. I think it was 60 something. In the outfield before the game, you get the opportunity to catch balls hit out during batting practice and maybe a chance to get an autograph by the bullpen guys or the outfielders.
As far as sections, the official site has a layout of the entire stadium an is broken up into sections. It will even zoom in to certain areas of the stadium. I hope all of this helps. I too am a die hard cardinal fan. I usually just arrive at the ballpark and find someone selling tickets. I have never failed to get tickets this way. I even found tickets back in the 90's when the Cards and Cubs were battling for first and their game was sold out.
The seating all depends on what you really want to do. The 2,3 and 4th of May is a Cubs Series. For a die hard fan that has never been there before, that would be the best. Tickets for that series cost a little more. Bleacher is the best bang for the buck. For a real great time, try and get into a party room or Bank of America Club or the Coke a Cola Patio. The have all you can eat food and all you can drink beer and soda. If you only want to go to the game Try and get Bleacher seats.
Got to go with Cards vs. Cubs 5/4. The game is sold out and its on ESPN! Get any seat on the lower level. These are the tickets that are in the 100's sections (Field Boxes). The bleachers are in the 500's numbers and are great, but loaded with Cubs fans. Seating in the 200's, 300's, and 400's are upper levels (nose bleed). No seat in the stadium is bad, lowers are just easier to get to and have better views. If you can catch seats on eBay for less than $75 a ticket for the lower section you got a great deal! Just remember the lower the first number in the section the better the seats. Unless you don't mind squeezing into the bleachers in the 500 sections. 150 is behind home plate. These are the most desirable but also the most expensive. Good luck buying and have a blast at the game.
