I'm new to all of this: mommyhood, being an at-home mom, being newly unemployed - the whole bit. In a nutshell, I lived in New York City for many years (married, but pre-children) and worked in a big office. Five years ago my husband and I relocated to a very remote area (we live in the woods) but I continued to telecommute for the NYC company. Now we have a new baby boy. At the end of my maternity leave, my company awarded me for my years of devoted service by letting me go (downsizing!). So now I am trying to get used to being an at-home-mom (not the worst thing - but I would have been a work-at-home mom - similar, but with a paycheck and a nanny!). I'm also trying to find some freelance work here and there (and learn what to do when my son decides to start gurgling loudly in the middle of a business call!). I've also opened an Ebay store - which has been a fascinating process and lots of fun. I just wish I could list items faster! I have a basement full of product but it's slowely making it's way onto the store. I might try Turbolister but it looks like that is just for PC - I do have a PC but I'm mainly a MAC person - but I suppose I could drag it out and try to fumble my way through the process - if it speeds up the listings it will be worth it. So today so far has included feeding my some rice cereal for the second time (he did VERY well!) plus trying to respond to a couple of best offers. There is so much more I want to do - but I know it will all come in time. I love mommyhood - and I secretly love working for myself - so we'll see where this road leads! :-)
congrats on your little one - feeding cereal the first few times is fun....It's even better when you get to the pureed carrots and peas. I am also a stay-at-home Mom, but only a part-time Ebay seller. Good luck with your store.
