Hey Weathervane
We are here. Either reading the books, or watching the movies or buying and selling. I`m currently reading IT for like the 4th maybe 5th time. Recently introduced Cher my partner to the great man, she went through the Bachman Books in days. She is now a firm King/Bachman fan she loved The Mist, the book and is currently reading Cell. I`m actually quite jealous of her she has so many great reading experiences ahead of her.Can`t wait for the Mist to open in the Cinemas over here, end of November.

Hi Chershaun;

The Mist opens here today.

I'm going to try & make it.

I haven't converted my hubby & never will although he did like Shawshank Redemtion the movie, but he takes me to the SK & Harry Potter movies when they come out.

I have a buyer who loves the UK editions, just have to remember which one he is & I'll send him your way.

Happy Holidays to you & yours!

Go SK!!:)

Hey Chershaun;

The Mist was great!
I forgot how it ended since I read it 20 plus years ago, it was written in 1985 & very vivid, I remembered it all except for the last 20 minutes.

Happy Holidays!

Hi again
You are lucky, we gotta another couple of weeks before we get to see the Mist. Cher can`t wait as she as just finished the book its very fresh in her mind. If I remember correctly does`ent the word HOPE play a big part in the end.?

Hi;

I can't tell you the end, but if you haven't read since 1985 like me you might be kind of surprised. I now have to go read it again when I have time before the DVD comes out & I'll watch it again.

It was kind of a shocking end & I don't know if it was the same for the original story but it was a great movie.

I know The Green Mile wasn't exactly as it was written but I read it three times before the movie actually came out & it brought me to tears when I saw it.

You'll have to say what you think of The Mist after you've seen it.

Cheers to you & your lady! :)

Hey Chershaun;

My daughter recently read The Mist & saw the movie twice in Ca.

She told me the ending is different which is why I could'nt remember the end.

You will enjoy it & be ready for a surprise! :)

Happy Holidays!

A long time unabashed King fan here. The first King book I ever read was The Shining, and I have never looked back. I'm not usually a fan of the adaptations since they seem to focus more on the horror than the story and the characters, but Frank Darabont usually does honor to the work, so I think I'll go check out The Mist.

My favorite King book of all time is The Stand, but The Dark Tower series (especially The Drawing of the Three and The Dark Tower) is probably 1-A. I've just re-read all of his collections - still amazing after all these years.

Hi Cyn;

I also started out reading The Shining 30 plus years ago & was real disapointed with the movie. The 2nd one made for TV was actually more suited to the book.

I also thought they did good with Salem's Lot & Needful Things.

I must say I waited for years for The Stand to come out but The Dark Tower series are the greatest & always will be.

Nice to see another SK fan here.

Hi
I understand what you are saying regarding The Shining. It did`nt stay too faithful to the book, but Kubrick was never gonna do that. His work is always just that HIS. But I maintain as a stand alone Movie it is definetly in the top 5 of the genre.
My opinion only, but hell that`s why we are on here aint it, our opinions.

Well, just a few moments ago I noticed the 'neighborhood' link on my page...I feel like such a doofus..how long has this neighborhood thing been up and running?
I'm in a couple of groups where there's surely SK fans, and I'm sure they would love to join.

I've been an E-bayer since '02 & I never knew this existed!
I read my 1st King novel, The Shining, when I was 10 yrs. old, & I've been hooked since. So...I'd like to think that I'm definitely a "real" fan! Great to see there are so many others! I LOVED the DT series...just sent the last 3 to my mom so she could catch up. Obviously, The Stand is FANTASTIC. One of my favorites is Night Shift...think I read that one about 5 times. I loved Rose Madder, From a Buick 8, Geralds Game, Insomnia, Dark Half....I could go on & on! I'm a little behind, tho...working full-time, school, husband, kids..I haven't been able to read as much as I'd like, so, I haven't read some of the newer books(& old?) I haven't read Cell, Blaze or The Mist( I don't think). I see that Blaze is an older Bachman? I can't believe I haven't heard of it. And, The Mist...is that a short story? old or new? Don't really know if I've read it or not!! ...And, I have to read the books before i ever see the movies, it's a MUST for me. Thanks for listening...seems I just go on & on! :)
