Hi again greetings from the U.K. Favourite King Movie Hmm. Probably Carrie, the only adaptation of a King novel that I think surpassed the book. I remember seeing Carrie at the Cinema for the 1st time and was moved, the isolation and bullying, was angered, the fundamental religion, and scared half to death the eerie atmosphere as Carrie wreaks her revenge and of course the ending arrrggghhhh. The Shining by Kubrick is a fave of mine too. Very atmospheric.
Yes Carrie was an excellent one as well. I remember watching that one in my spring chicken days.
He has so made so many, more than any author in history that it's so hard to pick.
My hubby the not SK fan likes The Shawshank Redemption & he takes me to all the SK movies & also Harry Potter movies & I go to his movies so it'a a trade off but he has never read SK
I don't seem to have time to read any more. And I rarely go to a theater. So, when a Stephen King movie comes on TV or I can get a DVD, stay out of my way!! I loved Storm of the Century, but I also loved The Shining. Had to watch most of it with my fingers over my eyes!
I remember reading SK as a spring chicken living by myself & hearings things that go bump in the night that were'nt there. THE REMOTE CONTROL IS MINE WHEN SK IS ON OR I GO TO ANOTHER ROOM!
Now maybe we can get some talkers here! Yay Cindy!
It would be awesome if they did a Dark Tower movie, who knows, it took him 20 years to do The Stand because he thought the world might not be ready for it way back then. I also loved Fire-Starter & I could go on & on.
Nice to finally get some people here, I guess they're out there searching for that special SK book.
Hubby has nothing against the great man, it's just not his type of reading.
He only reads a book while hunting ( in the evening when too dark to hunt) & like Clancy, Grisham, along those lines. I like Sci Fi, he likes westerns & very old movies. I try to watch his stuff but alot of the time I have to go to another room to watch my stuff so I don't take over the remote control. Kind of a give & take. I must say I've seen about every John Wayne movie ever made many times over as my family likes westerns too.
Hello! Seems I hardly ever enjoy the movies as much as the book. I NEVER see them until I've read them. I DID love Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile(altho not as well as the book), Dreamcatcher(thought that was a great adaptation), Carrie, Dolores Claiborne, Misery, Needful Things(SO close!)...as usual, I could go on & on. I don't think I can actually choose a "favorite"...they are all so great. It seems to me that SKs books are just so involved/detailed, that the movies just can't compare. And, often, I find, if you hadn't read the book 1st, you wouldn't really get some of the things in the movies (i.e. the Elvis shades she's wearing in the crowd in Needful Things). HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!!
I love Creepshow! It was funny and scarey. Maybe I like it because it wasn't made from a book since it is so hard to make good movies from a King book.
