I just signed on this wonderful discussion board today and I was wondering if I could pick the "collective" brains of my fellow collectors. Some months ago, I purchased a Jaws prop on Ebay. It was supposedly "Screen Used"-but I couldn't find it anywhere in the movie. The seller (a reputable prop house in CA said it was from Quint's shack. He said it didn't survive the production cut.) It was also autographed by Roy Sheider. Its probably real (it cost me enough) but my question is this : Are there ANY SCREEN SEEN props from this movie to be had? Just this week, I bid (and lost) on another Jaws Ebay item from the UK. The seller said he purchased it from the states some 7 years ago. Before I bid, I watched Jaws (from the 4 millionth time) and couldn't find it anywhere in the movie. The seller told me that it was a stage prop and probably lost to cutting as well. Also, I attended the Jaws fest on the Vineyard and I could see that many of the most desirable props are already spoken for. Does anyone have any idea where an "Average Joe" can score an original prop from their favorite movie? (in case you didn't guess, that movie is Jaws LOL!!)
