Hello every one, Any one know why it take longer to do 3 round liners at low speeds- 8.3v to 11.9v unless I go higher to 12.0v to 12.7v (the point at the end of the spring starts sparking real bright & burns through much faster at higher speeds) and after a couple of hours I have to change the spring, making it real hard to do big peaces. Any help would be grateful. Thank you, for any one that could help and your time.
sounds like your machine is not tuned. you shouldn't have to run above 8v for outlining w/ a 3rl and you should not have to change the spring for a long time months sometimes years if your machine is properly tuned. you get what you pay for as far as tattoo machines go, if you buy a machine from china for $20 your gonna do crappy work.
My last response was cut short for some reason (lol).... Could any one help me fine tune my machines, I would be grateful for the help. Thank you ss4me for your help. P.S. Thanks to any one that might help and your time,
update, talked to several people and found that I gap my contact screw to my springs too close also my front springs are real thin from my old supplier,my new one told me what was happening and what I have been doing wrong. I also found out I was building my guns a little off, instead of being centered.
for one....it is a tattoo machine, not GUN....nad yes the first patent was under Gun so iam sort of wrong but im really not guns kill people machines jsut hurt them......I have a video made on u tube.....fattasticvoyage is my screen name it goes over a ton of stuff....but basics are liner....is hard timing spring soft main soring....air gap at about 3-4mm untouched and contact gap at about 2-3mm.......most machines will run smooth on 6-9 vlts but this is just an opinion make your machine run smooth...also 3rl is very very small and most will only use it for maybe strands of single hair....i use a 5 rs which gives you about 7-9 line but lets you work the skin more before tearing up skin......but mainly if itis a liner i use its a 9 or5 rl.....but 7's are really good to go with as its a good in between....
OPPS.. my bad, they are not a GUN they are "MACHINE'S", the term/word has been used loosely, MY BAD ! "Ive been in the art for over 20+ years off & on and I still need reminded I don't use a AK47 ! (LOL) Thanks for the feed back.
