What do you think???
Useful Funny
Hello,

I use alot of tools for home rennovation. I started back in the 1990's. I find the tools of today are consistently good to high quality. I remember first seeing tools coming out of China and thinking the quality is poor. Quite soon after that I saw the quality change to world class levels. That when I got scared and forsaw correctly that the manufacturing that is leaving the USA will not return. The economics will not let it return. I digress. I have used Milwaukee, Fein, Makita, Bosch, Dewalt, Chicago, Starrett, Wiha.
I still am amazed at the quality that shows up even at low end prices. I do not find one brand is the best, I do find the best brand is the brand that fits best in my hands.
Of course I speak to the small contractor's perspective. Have a nice day and thanks for reading. If you are looking for direction to help with a purchase, use a freinds toools for a few minutes and see how it feels and then compare to a competitor.

Most are good anymore but a lot of it depends on the tool and your intended use.

it doesnt matter what make it is as long as you go for the best quality tools you can afford also it is a good idea to ask the trade people what they use i live in uk and i genrally find that some new tools arent as good as old ones especialy stanley and record planes i suggest avoid the planes with plastice handles another good idea is to go to tool hire shops and ask if they have any tools that are going to replace fore sale ie i bought a makita 9401 belt sander for £40 instead of £250 if new and also a bosch 85gks circular saw for £35 instead of £225 if new and they work all day long when i use then if i bought tools for the same amount new they wouldnt last more than 2or3 months

I have used about every brand except those el-cheapo 19.99 POS. My employees use them hard and seem fond of dropping them from stepladders etc. The one that gets used the most and has held up to the most abuse is Milwaukee. Do not buy Dewalt. I have been very, very disappointed with Dewalt and will never by another Dewalt tool. I have had very good luck with Ryobi and the price is right. They nearly keep up with Milwaukee at less than half the price.
