I have two hand tools that I cannot identify-they look like old paint roller handles maybe-they are made of metal, with short handles with a hole in the handle for an extension maybe?, and metal rolling blades about 1/4 apart along the length of the roller? any ideas? I would love to send anyone a picture that might have some idea.

Without seeing the tool this it a guess, but i believe you are describing a carpet roller. I have seen carpet installers on commercial jobs using it to smooth seams where they join two pieces of carpet together. The tool is about 7-9 inches long from end of handle to roller. The handle has two arms going down to the roller axle as opposed to the one arm of a paint roller. The roller looks like a weird rolling meat tenderizer with flattened teeth running along the roller and the thinner edge facing the direction it would roll. Hope this helps you to figure out what you've got!
