As for achieving the Stanley cup question.....NEVER AGAIN. What a farce this season has been. Players didn't want to part, Even the Captain who claims to bleed blue and white could of helped his team better themselves for the future and then resign in the off season. Now the idiots are winning a few games, no chance for the lottery draft pick. Which also means nothing to management. Remember this block buster, Our 1st. round draft pick, McCauley, and Brad Boyes (who already has 38 goals this season) for that worthless piece of *%$#@ Owen Nolan! All I see is a return to the dark years of the 80's. I miss Clark & Gilmour. Was 1992/93 that long ago?
We would of beat Montreal in the finals in 92-93, if only the ref had the square ba--s to call Gretzky for that hook, instead LA wins and then smokes us in Game Seven. Oh well, lets wait another 50 or so years. Even if the leafs tanked and were lucky enough to draft high this year, they would of blown that pick, just like they've done for the past 20 yrs.
