I want to see this in my lifetime, but the people they put in there do not seem to wanna win they just wanna keep their cash flowing so they do other things to stay there and thereby lose all focus on the game and winning. Do you guys think we will ever see it? I am 35 now and am losing all hope.
Why would they want to win the cup, they have a mediocre product on the ice but yet the ACC is always sold out, and probably for the next hundred years, so tell me, if you owned this team, and had sellouts consistently, why would you spend monies to put a championship team on the ice. Maybe if TML fans started boycotting games like they do in the USA, then maybe they'll re think their position, until that happens, its KA-CHING, KA-CHING, all the way to the bank. Just my humble thoughts, but probably theres another million that think like me.
Yes the leafs will win the cup someday during the off season when the new gm and coach comes in i hope they will turn this team around and win the cup.
Unfortunately for the rebuilding season of 2008/2009, we wont even make the playoffs. Maybe by the mid to late 20's we will establish a dynasty run if management doesn't @%^*$ it up. A true TML fan will face reality and stop fantasizing on the unbelievable. Listening to Leaf fans talk about achieving the Cup is like listening to people who claim they're going to win the Powerball Lottery this week. It still pains me every time Boyes gets a goal. Didn't we just give him away with a #1 pick & McCauley?
Heh heres my 2ct. I cant see it coming anytime soon but crap teams like Ducks and Lightning managed to get success pretty fast from being parked in the bottom. IMHO what TML does wrong is to trade for names WAY over the top and never rely on new HUNGRY talent. Get a GM who wants to BUILD a team not BUY. Give him 5 years and hopefully he makes the right draftpicks. /Bo
