Hi All, We're considering an Alaskan cruise this summer. We've never cruised before and would appreciate any input on what to look for, etc. Does anyone have any tips?
I have a voucher for cruise anywhere in the world. Pay for price of one pax for 2 person. Selling at only USD800 neg. Value for money. Valid till Nov 09.
Cruises are a lot of fun. Are you planning on doing any off ship activities? I could send you some nice information and pictures of different things in Alaska. Which port are you planning on sailing out of? There are some cheap cruises right now.
My husband and I did an Inside Passage Alaskan Cruise at the end of last summer. It was wonderful. We had been on a Hawaiian cruise a few years ago and I think I liked Alaska better. Just like HI though it was drizzly almost every day, but it really didn't bother us or stop us from doing things. It was pretty cold, although the locals were in shirt sleeves. The glaciers are a must-see. We liked the Mt Roberts tramway in Juneau and in Ketchikan we did an all-you-can-eat crabfest. We actually went out and pulled up some pots and saw how they measure them.
Oh, you can't go wrong in Alaska. Try looking into the Fjords in southern Alaska, they're supposed to be beautiful! They do also make some pretty good, but short travel books on Alaska also.
