In 1957 I visited New Zealand on a two day over night from Canberra Australia where I was on a military operation. I must say it was most beautiful and the folks were of the best in the world. If I remember correctly the outlying areas of the island had sheep herds all over the place. I was told some years later there were more sheep in New Zealand then there were people. .In the mid-80s I found a pen pal to communicate with however it all ended when she passed away in the mid-90s. I can remember one evening the stars were as big as basketballs and the Southern Cross was a wonderful sight. If you ever get back to the Far East take a side trip to the island of Okinawa, the “Keystone of the Pacific,” much beauty also resides on that bit of rock. Good luck in you travels and by the way do you sell “Shalimar,” perfume? While I visited French Morocco (now Morocco) in the late 50s I purchased an oz of Shalimar purfume for $5.00.
I ever went to Newzealand, but I dream to go there. I always see beautiful hause and green trees, blue sea and so many interesting things in Newzealand from TV.
OMG! Ever since I saw Lord of the Rings, It's my dream to go to New Zealand! It's like #2 on my Bucket List. LOL
I'm tying to find someone who has the same passion for this dream as me, and hopefully make the trip. I don't think I'd like to go by myself, because I'm legally blind and don't think I could find my was very easily.
I say that because when I was traveling North, alone, I was sitting in the wrong area for my plane. I missed my flight and had to wait for 2 hours! Don't every want to do that again.
I would love to have a Pin Pal in New Zealand! How does one go about that?
