When my ex-husband did some contracting at the former AFB - coverage seemed VERY SPOTTY! Easy to blame on aliens (some guys DID, too) but I think it was just TOO MUCH LAND to cover -
I can't remember the name of the Air Force base (they've mothballed SO MANY!) but it was/is HUGE - long runways, etc. They park old/un-used airliners there now - but lonely airplanes don't NEED cell service.
MAYBE IT WAS MORE, though - the FAR END of those runways has to be where the "Top-Secret" hangars still are .....
