One of my favorites on dingy cottons and pit stains is a cup of ammonia and a scoop of biz in warm water. Soak a few hours and then wash. I've been darn straight amazed with that combination.

AMONIA is safe for any machine-washable fabric.

if you have hard water, distilled white vinegar can keep rust & other minerals off fabrics.

Oxyclean is my savior!! 2 scoops in a 3 gallon bucket of wam water soaks out a good 75% of stains in hand washable fabrics. Exceptionally good for pit stains, food stains, yellowing from age and storage and general dingyness.
