1991 volvo won't spark

I have a 1991 volvo 240 that just went dead in the middle of the road, I have no spark at the plug wires but I do have a spark coming off of coil wire. I replaced cap and rotor thinking they had to be problem but still no spark at plugs. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Was it running alright before it died? The only thing I can think of would be bad plug wires. You could try replacing the spark plugs and wires and see if that solves the problem. Hope that helps.

iT SOUNDS LIKE THE COIL IS NOT PUTTING OUT ENOF SPARK. FIRST CHECK YOUR GROUND WIRE. IT MAY BE LOSE OR NOT MAKING A GOOD GROUND.

hi I would check the pickup coil .I've had the same problem on a different car which turned out to be pickup coil shorted.
