Have you checked the Danbury area? When I lived there 15 years ago there was an excellent volvo shop but I can't find any reference for him. Performance Imports and ENI Motorsports look promising although I can not vouch for either.
Look in your local newspaper and Craigslist for old Volvos for sale. Call the sellers and ask them to recommend mechanics in your area. Keep your hood hinges oiled. And the shiny side up. -Dashdad
You might join the 1800 List ( a Yahoo group). This has lots of 1800 advice and information. I'll bet someone on there could steer you in the right direction. The east coast has loads of these old Volvos around.
