Yes, but what's worse, since discovering Webkinz on Ebay about a week ago, I've spent $200!! We just started Webkinz on Christmas, and I have 3 kids, so of course I NEED to buy 3 at a time!
OK, I admit it, I've been caught in this particular web(kinz). Like the previous respondent, I have also discovered how easy it is to feed my habit via ebay. I bought the first one for a grandkid's November birthday, and thought I should be sure the site was appropriate, so I bought my first.
Well, my husband brought one home to me and now the people he works with are on line with me and our LilKinz... so, I'm thinking of getting a couple for my niece and nephews
My personal opinion is that it is a great site for pre-teens. The games help them to understand the computer, the internet, interacting with money, etc. Not to mention the educational value of some of the matmatics and memory games. While it should be limited (like all childrens activities) I am sold on it's value to children between about 7 to as old as they want to play. For me personally, its a great way to decompress after work.
Great discussion! The hardest time I have is keeping them brand new so I can sell them on ebay, rather than keeping a few for myself! They are all adorable.
Help! I am a junkie! I bought a few for my 7 yr old, then my 13 yr old, then I went on ebay.......I'm an ebay junkie to begin with! LOL I've sold a lot of yarn and Barbies, but now I have to have ALL the webkinz....if they are rare I feel the need to buy them and put them away to sell at a future date. I've bought most of the retired ones...NOT the expensive ones....Sherbet Bunny on up. So, if the craze keeps up I'll be RICH, RICH, RICH, I tell ya! LOL Or You won't be able to find me under the pile of webkinz in my room! LOL I have a stash for gifts for the neighbors and nieces for birthdays and holidays, too. I love the website. Now I'm into buying Arte's rare junk! I sit and answer Quizzy's question's till my eyeballs fall out for kinz cash, then I go garden my strawberries and sell them back to the w shop for more kinzcash, then I do the hourly stuff....not the games, though, unless it's one of my favs, then I do my laundry and housework in between (yes, I stay at home), then I buy more rare stuff from Arte to save up to sell an account on ebay in the future! Somebody just sold theirs for $200! How's that for addicted! We have 4 accounts in our house, plus we do the neighbor's a lot...and we send stuff back and forth to each other. Now, I don't do all this EVERY day. I do leave the house! LOL We LOVE webkinz!
My niece asked me for some clothing for her Webkinz. So I bought some at Knott's Berry Farm. I found some on Ebay and a huge category of stuff.
I thought my mom might like playing linked with my niece and bought her a Goggles. THEN I found out that you HAD to have a HIGH SPEED internet connection. She doesn't, but I do.
So I signed me up and found a game similar to my favorite bubble game, Zingoz Pop. Did you know it has 30 levels? I finally made it all the way through.
I also found out, the hard way, that the Webkinz site shuts down about 2 AM PST, even if you're playing a game.
I love decorating my rooms. I like making the recipes. I'm over 40 and I play more than my nieces. tah
My sister-in-law and nephews gave my son a leopard for his 3rd birthday. Of course, he can't read and so I was the one figuring out how the whole thing worked and what the big deal was. Now I'm the one who is hooked!! We have such fun on the site and it's been a great way to "score cool points" with my nephews and nieces on the other side of the family. I'm so glad that I'm not alone in my addiction. It's such fun and a great mini escape!
I bought the Lil'kinz tree frog for my 4 yr old. Wanted to see what the big deal was. Yes, I am hooked. My daughter and I "share" her account. She can't read just yet and the games are a little too advanced for her, so I have to help out in that aspect. As far as buying stuff for her "guys" and decorating the room, she can really get around the site. It's nice because we both get to play together and it's special time with her. (I just feel dorky since I can only get to level 4 or 5 on the games and I am 35yrs old.....haa haa.)
Well, my daughter and I found webkinz for $3.99 at the beach on clearance and we bought a black cat. We came home and activated it. And as most parents I wanted to make sure the site was kid friendly. Not only had my 7yr old enjjoyed them but so have I, lol. We get on every morning and do the daily activites. If I knew how popular they were I would have bout more at $3.99 each. But since then I have purchased 5 on Ebay. I plan to hold onto them to give to her for b-day, xmas, good report cards, etc..... We love them!!!
It certainly does not take much to become addicted to this new craze! I am a teacher and had seen many of my students bringing them to school. Then, a co-worker suggested that I buy one for my then 4-year old son. We got him one for Easter and so began our "addiction." At first, we were just helping him navigate the site. Once we saw how much there was to do and how much he enjoyed it, we started to play as well. So, we went and looked to buy some more. We saw how many different kinds there were and just how cute the stuffed animals were and we became completely hooked. Now, not only do we buy some for him, but for both of us, and even began buying a few for our 7 month old, who enjoys sitting with us as we play! I love watching to see what animals are coming out each month and what new things are added. I love it and have found most of the activities have educational value for my kindergartener!!!
